CEO of telephony startup retained Ensis to advise on business planning and to drive business development and strategic relationships. Successfully identified and negotiated key telephony partnerships and strategic alliances. SAIC/Telcordia is key corporate investor. 
 
Currenex.com -- Global Online Currency Exchange
The firm is currently involved with the specification and deployment of the world’s first true foreign currency exchange. This innovative web-based effort captures the full potential of the network effects afforded by the Internet. Ensis provides product planning and program management for the on time delivery of this robust financial services application. This application serves a market that trades over $1.5 trillion every day. 
 
Managed the development of architecture, drove technology selection process, recruited and built the team, and performed all scheduling and tracking of progress. Hired a QA team and drove test plan development and execution. Managed the team from inception through shipment. Started the project in mid-April. Shipped on September 18. System is current operational at Exodus, 24x7, with transaction volumes growing at the expected rate. System is built to handle 10,000 trades/day.
 
Investors include Barclays Capital, TH Lee.Putnam Internet Partners, Amerindo Investment Advisors, and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette.
 
Doge Investments -- Investment Company
Ensis completed a long-term project to develop International Internet e-commerce strategies and solutions for this Cambridge MA.-based investment firm. This work was done in conjunction with Arthur D. Little and Cambridge Consultants in the U.K. 
 
General Magic -- Voice/Data Network Services
Ensis was instrumental in the renewal of General Magic. The principals worked with executive management to develop the basic product concept for the Portico virtual assistant service. Beyond the strategic planning, Ensis principals served as interim executives and stayed on to execute. Mr. Davoust headed product management during development, before moving on to other projects. He later came back to head up marketing for Portico, planning the launch and coordinating business development for the service. 
 
Owing in large part to the innovative strategy and the timely release of its new service, the company received an investment from Microsoft, which helped drive the stock from under $1 to over $15 during Ensis' tenure at General Magic.

Iomega -- Removable Media Hardware Mfr.
Ensis developed a software strategy for Iomega that will be used to drive media sale tie rates to drives. This project involved advising the company on the software product planning and development processes. It also involved advising the company on Internet infrastructure issues to handle increased traffic to Iomega's site as a vehicle for delivering large volumes of software to Zip and Jaz users. To date, all of our team’s suggestions have been adopted. The first products are shipping. Ensis principals continue to support Iomega in product management.
 
IPlantronics -- Telephony Peripheral Mfr.
The President of the new Plantronics computer audio division turned to Ensis for a key executive placement. Ensis found and placed the ideal candidate. 
 
Perfect.com -- B2B 
Worked as co-founder, starting the company completely from scratch. The company builds a B2B reverse auction mechanism for automating the RFQ process for net market makers. Funding soon acquired, we started requirements writing. Hired the entire product management team. First cut of the system was completed in November 1999. Beta released in February of 2000. System went live in June 2000. Investors include: Allen & Co, Angel Investors, L.P, Bessemer Venture Partners, East River Ventures, i-Hatch, New Enterprise Associates, NeoCarta Ventures, Odyssey Capital Group, L.P., Primedia Ventures, SOFTBANK Venture Capital, Staenberg Private Capital and Whalen Gratney. Customers include HP, Broadband, and GE Capital.
 
Telcontar (TelEvoke) -- Telematics
Work for the CEO of TelEvoke spanned strategy and staffing. Ensis was engaged from the founding of the company and still serves on its advisory board. After successful funding rounds, the company today is an emerging leader in telematics and is involved in a series of breakthrough strategic partnerships.
